Great Expectations

May has been an interesting month for me. There have been celebrations, boring and happy moments, and summer has begun!

May is the month that I get out of school. This year, I graduated 8th grade. Graduation was boring, but I made it through it. I got a bunch of awards though. After the “ceremony”, I left school and it was officially summer!

A couple of nights later, I had a campout with some of my best friends. We watched Grown Ups 2, or as my dad calls it Hilarious 2, and we loved it. Then, we played a few games in the dark, and my friend and I won because we hid for 15 minutes straight before we turned ourselves in. One thing that we did enjoy was talking until about 2ish in the morning until my mom told us to be quiet and go to sleep. All in all, it was fun to see them before I left for the summer.

My cousin Rachel graduated from high school  Memorial Day weekend. We went to the 2 HOUR LONG ceremony, and it was okay.  The party after it was better, though. I got to see some family I haven't seen in a while. We also ate a whole lot--my dad grilled the best BBQ!  Also that same weekend, my family of five and our cousins from North Carolina went to the lake. We tubed behind the boat and went swimming. Also, some people we met at the lake let me wake surf behind their boat and it was awesome! They generated a nice waist/chest high left wave and I got up on my second try. After that, I got to do turns and it was so amazing!

Since it is finally summer, I can't wait to get to the beach.  On Thursday last week, we packed up the car and were finally ready to leave, but it wasn't without a whole lot of difficulties. We finally got off an hour and a half later than planned for the 12 hour car trip.  We will be in Florida for a week before we go to Folly Beach for the first contest of the summer, the Folly Beach Wahine Classic.

I cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer holds, but I hope it includes surfing and more surfing!
