A New Season of Surf

April was an awesome month full of celebrations, lots of surfing, and traveling.  The first weekend in April was Easter! Easter is my favorite holiday because it reminds me of how amazing and powerful God is. My entire family got together and celebrated that Sunday! We ate a home-cooked meal, had an Easter egg hunt, and all sat down to talk with each other. All in all, it was the best way to kick off April.  The NSSA East Coast Championships was the second weekend of April in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.  I competed in Explorer Women’s Longboard. The waves were super fun and clean. The water was also very warm and enjoyable. I was able to surf everyday in some fun conditions. For the event, I finished second place! I was super stoked to have placed this well, and I have taken some knowledge about competing away with me. The third weekend in April was a good stay-at-home weekend. It was nice to hang out with family and have an “off” weekend. I was able to practice my driving a little more, which helped me a lot. The last week of April was spent in preparation for the upcoming ESA Mid-Atlantic Regional competition. It will be the first weekend of May. I packed, got all my schoolwork, and tracked the swell for the event. Needless to say, I was ready.  April was yet another great month for me. I was able to surf, compete, learn life lessons, celebrate, and travel to some cool places.  I cannot wait for regionals in May and all of the fun May will bring!  Until then, save me a wave.....
