This morning was a different morning from every other morning. I knew it was my last morning to eat those awesome pancakes I loved so much. Also, Britt and my mom weren't feeling very good, so breakfast was short but delicious.
After breakfast, Britt stayed at the hotel and we went to Swahiba's place. Ruth led the devotion and it was my favorite one of the whole entire week because it was so powerful.
Not before long, the girls from the Mentorship and Empowerment Program were arriving. We were going to wash their feet and give them sanitary pads. We washed their feet and gave them a new pair of shoes. Then, we prayed for them and took a picture. When we were done washing their feet, we handed out sanitary pads. The girls were so happy. When we were done, we took tons of pictures and all the girls wanted their picture taken with their friends.
Then, Britt, Mom, Chris, and I headed to the Giraffe Centre. We were able to feed the giraffes and also pet them. Britt allowed one to kiss her, but I thought it was so gross. We learned more about giraffes and it was so cool. Also, we got to see tortises; they were so cool and big for turtles. The whole experience was so cool!
To cap off the day, we headed to a hotel called Ole-Sereni. It is a 5-star hotel and we got to stay in it for FREE! It is a long story, but it was super awesome. When we looked out the window, we saw a Water Buffalo! We had dinner at the hotel and it was a buffet. I got to eat calamari, octopus, shrimp, and chicken in stir fry at the same time. It was so amazing and the dessert was awesome, too.
It was sad when we had to leave for the airport. When we finally left, it was really late at night. I cannot wait for my next trip back.
Lesson of the Day: You never know how much you're going to miss something until it is gone. Enjoy the moments you have.
